Skills

• Passion for working with nonprofit organizations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience with QuickBooks or other general ledger systems.
• Strong ability to manage multiple clients and communicate effectively.
• CPA certification and bilingual skills (English/Spanish) are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Act as the outsourced Controller/CFO for nonprofit organizations.
• Produce financial reports for management and Board presentations.
• Recommend and implement improvements to internal controls, policies, and procedures.
• Manage day-to-day transactions like accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general accounting.
• Analyze data and provide insights for budgeting and forecasting.
• Oversee grant management, funder reporting, and compliance.
• Prepare for and manage annual audits.
• Provide training for clients and staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
• 5-7+ years of accounting experience, preferably in nonprofit accounting or public accounting.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently.
