The ideal candidate should have the proven ability to analyze, interpret, and draw inferences from research findings and prepare reports. Registration to practice before the USPTO would be preferred. Candidates must possess excellent academic credentials and strong administrative skills. This position may require candidates to travel locally and out of town.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing patent applications and drafting responses to communications from the USPTO
  • Assisting attorneys in delivering quality legal services efficiently and cost-effectively
  • Discussing the scientific aspects of inventions with clients and inventors
  • Communicating with inventors and the Patent & Trademark Office regarding all aspects of the patent application process
  • Evaluating and reporting on technological aspects of inventions
  • Advising attorneys on general and specific technologies and conducting regulatory and factual research
  • Coordinating workflows with outside service providers and directing legal support staff as needed
