The Nursing-Registered (Pediatrics) Instructor position is a full-time, tenured track role at City College of San Francisco’s Nursing-RN department. The instructor will be responsible for providing instruction, evaluating students, and planning curriculum content specific to nursing education. This role involves a combination of theory, simulation, and clinical instruction, particularly in pediatrics. The instructor will also supervise nursing students in clinical settings and work closely with other faculty and staff to ensure quality education and student success.

Compensation and Benefits

The initial salary placement is based on verified educational and work experience, with an annual salary range of \(61,200 to \)93,240 for 175 days of service. New hires will have two additional service days for mandatory orientation, receiving independent flex credit for attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement curriculum content for nursing education
  • Supervise and evaluate nursing students in clinical settings
  • Teach theory and clinical courses related to pediatric nursing

  • Maintain clinical competency and participate in faculty meetings
  • Address the needs of diverse learners and provide appropriate support
  • Document and discuss student performance and progress
  • Identify and assist students needing additional support in theory and clinical practices

Qualifications

  • Earned Master’s Degree in Nursing or equivalent by July 1, 2021
  • Current California Registered Nurse License
  • Demonstrated experience with diverse student populations
  • At least one year of direct patient care experience in pediatrics or clinical teaching experience
  • Experience in teaching courses related to registered nursing is preferred

Education Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution or equivalent
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing along with a Master’s Degree in Health Education or Administration from an accredited institution

Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of one-year continuous, full-time experience as a registered nurse in pediatric care or equivalent
  • At least one year teaching experience in nursing education or completion of a post-baccalaureate course in nursing education
