As a Perioperative Clinical Informaticist, you'll play a crucial role in enhancing our perioperative IT systems and workflows. Working closely with leadership, clinical staff, and IT teams, you'll collaborate to design and refine Cerner build and related perioperative IT initiatives. Your primary focus will be to serve as a liaison between perioperative operations and IT, guiding projects from assessment and scoping through to implementation, optimization, and ongoing maintenance. This includes system testing, issue management, training, and supporting go-lives for surgical departments across the organization. Minimum Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree Active Registered Nurse (RN) license Minimum of 2 years of perioperative clinical experience Recent perioperative clinical and workflow experience within the past 5 years Cerner experience highly desired Strong self-starter with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement and driving change initiatives within the perioperative clinical setting Excellent presentation skills for communicating with executives and chief clinicians Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with perioperative personnel to understand current workflows and design future state clinical processes Support the planning, coordination, and implementation of clinical technologies and processes within the perioperative setting in alignment with organizational goals Encourage the adoption and utilization of clinical technologies within the perioperative setting Identify education needs and provide clinician training on perioperative systems to ensure successful adoption and user experience Develop and monitor Perioperative Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) Maintain perioperative clinical expertise through staff rounding and participation in shared governance council committees and meetings Act as a liaison between IS and perioperative operations to identify technology needs, gather feedback, and coordinate end-user involvement in system integration Analyze perioperative IT applications and clinical workflows to identify process improvement opportunities Ensure perioperative clinician representation on entity and enterprise-wide IT projects, committees, and optimization efforts Collaborate with leadership to identify perioperative subject matter experts for project work as needed Perform any other duties as assigned
