The Plant Maintenance Technician Assistant plays a crucial role in supporting the maintenance team by performing preventive maintenance assignments, completing minor repairs, and assisting in major repairs under direct supervision. This position involves working with various types of equipment and ensuring they operate safely and effectively.

Skills

  • Proficient in welding and fabrication
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems
  • Familiarity with pneumatic systems, including air compressors
  • Ability to safely operate tools and equipment for repair and servicing
  • Strong diagnostic skills for identifying defects in equipment and vehicles

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs following Waste Management Safety and OSHA standards
  • Complete minor repairs and assigned preventive maintenance services
  • Assist Technicians in the adjustment, repair, or replacement of equipment
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with Corporate / OSHA Standards
  • Engage in physical activities such as pushing, pulling, bending, and lifting

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Successfully complete pre-employment drug screening and physical examination
