Description

The Plant Maintenance Technician is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the operation of all plant systems and equipment, including balers, conveyor belts, gearboxes, electrical motors, pulleys, shafts, and bearings. This position requires responding to all system failures by taking appropriate corrective action, ensuring systems are operational and functioning safely and efficiently. Generally reporting to the Plant Maintenance Manager, the technician must be able to perform essential duties satisfactorily and may also be assigned minor duties as needed.

Skills

  • Proficient in welding and fabrication
  • Knowledge of single and three-phase electrical systems
  • Familiarity with electrical control systems
  • Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Ability to diagnose defects and repair various equipment and vehicles
  • Capability to operate tools and equipment safely

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs in accordance with Waste Management Safety and Life Critical Rules and OSHA requirements
  • Conduct preventive maintenance inspections and repairs on major equipment
  • Maintain DEI (Daily Equipment Inspections) backlog
  • Establish and adjust work procedures to meet production schedules
  • Inspect the quality of third-party repairs
  • Perform service calls for emergency breakdowns
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA Standards

Qualifications

  • Ability to perform physical requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodations
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Legally eligible to work in the United States
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug screen and physical
