Compensation and Benefits

  • Police Recruit starting salary: $66,252.24
  • Lateral Police Recruit starting salary: $70,094.16

Responsibilities

  • Prepare traffic accident reports and handle evidence in criminal cases
  • Interact with the public to resolve disputes and provide legal advice
  • Make critical decisions regarding arrests, mental assessments, and use of force

Qualifications

  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Age range: 21-45 years (applicants may apply at 20 if turning 21 by academy start date)
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Good moral character and suitable emotional stability
  • High school diploma or GED certificate
