We are seeking a Transmission Line Principal Engineer to play a pivotal role in the design and development of transmission projects, including generation tie lines for wind, solar, and battery energy storage projects, as well as standalone transmission lines. This position spans the full project lifecycle—from conceptual design to construction and commissioning—ensuring technical excellence and timely delivery.

In this role, you will collaborate with a diverse team of professionals, oversee external engineering consultants, and provide technical guidance to drive innovation in renewable energy transmission projects.

Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil/Structural Engineering.
• At least 7 years of experience in high-voltage (HV) transmission line development, design, and construction.
• Proficient in tools such as PLS-CADD, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Project.
• Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Exceptional communication and teamwork skills to foster collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
• Willingness to travel within North America as needed.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage the design process for transmission projects, ensuring they align with technical standards and project goals.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external partners to secure necessary resources, permits, and approvals.
• Develop comprehensive project scopes, evaluate bids, and award contracts for engineering services.
• Supervise the preparation and delivery of engineering documentation and deliverables across all project phases.
• Serve as a technical advisor, offering expertise in value engineering and ensuring the quality of designs.

Qualifications

• Certification as a Project Management Professional (PMP) or Professional Engineer (P.E.) preferred.
• Experience using project management tools like Primavera is a plus.
• Familiarity with renewable energy projects and relevant regulatory requirements is advantageous.
