The Nurse LPN/RN CSC is responsible for providing both direct and indirect patient care within the local Crisis Stabilization Center, focusing on psychiatric care. This role maintains high standards of Professional Nursing Practice and participates actively as a member of an interdisciplinary team that coordinates care for individuals facing behavioral crises. The position requires collaboration with healthcare team members to provide patient and family education while ensuring age-appropriate care for adults aged 18 and older, including geriatrics. This position is classified as Category I, indicating potential exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nursing care, including health assessments and vital signs
  • Administer medications and manage medication administration records (MAR)
  • Provide patient education regarding health and medications
  • Coordinate care with various healthcare professionals and families
  • Document observable changes in patients’ behavior and condition
  • Assist with diagnostic and treatment procedures
  • Participate in team and leadership meetings as assigned
  • Maintain regular attendance and participate in required training
  • Engage in mandatory overtime when necessary

Qualifications

  • Associate’s degree in nursing required
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
  • At least one year of psychiatric experience; hospital or acute care setting experience preferred
  • Valid LPN or RN license in Missouri required
