Due to the critical service needs of the communities we serve, we are offering a $2,400 sign-on bonus. The Nurse LPN/RN at our Crisis Stabilization Center provides direct and indirect patient care in a psychiatric capacity while maintaining standards of Professional Nursing Practice. You will participate as an interdisciplinary team member responsible for the overall coordination of care and services delivered to individuals experiencing behavioral crises. This position is for weekend nights, working Saturday/Sunday/12-hour shifts.

Skills

  • Effective verbal, written, and nonverbal communication skills
  • Cognitive, organizational, and emotional abilities to handle multiple stressors
  • Ability to work with patients who may be verbally or physically agitated
  • Strong nursing assessment skills in a psychiatric context

Responsibilities

  • Perform nursing care such as health assessments, vital signs, and daily care
  • Administer medications including medication pass, injections, and self-administration observation
  • Manage medication records and controlled substances
  • Provide patient education regarding physical health and medications
  • Coordinate care with staff, residents, family, physicians, and pharmacies
  • Report observable changes in individuals’ behavior and physical condition
  • Assist staff with diagnostic and treatment procedures
  • Educate new employees on procedures and protocols
  • Participate in team and leadership meetings as assigned
  • Provide direct patient care to adults
  • Participate in mandatory overtime when needed

Qualifications

  • At least one year of psychiatric experience; hospital or acute care setting preferred
  • Valid LPN or RN licensure in MO required

Education Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in nursing required
  • Bachelor’s degree in nursing preferred
