Our client is seeking a Nurse Practitioner - Psychiatric to work in a secured withdrawal unit within a crisis stabilization center. The incumbent will conduct psychiatric assessments, evaluate medical health needs, make referrals to community physicians and health facilities, and provide medication management in collaboration with the psychiatrist and medical team. Additionally, the incumbent will offer clinical mental health services to agency patients.

Skills

  • Master’s degree in psychiatric mental health nursing (ARNP preferred)
  • Licensed as a Washington State Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner
  • Carry American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) certification
  • Preferred: Buprenorphine waiver (may obtain upon hire)
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and great attendance
  • Team player with proven ability to work well with others
  • Experience with trauma-informed care and working in the LGBTQ+ community is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Conduct complete history and physical exams, including comprehensive psychiatric assessments
  • Provide service coordination for patients, participating with individual treatment teams
  • Engage in court proceedings, staffing, testimony, and patient advocacy
  • Participate in staff meetings and treatment planning reviews
  • Manage medication and consult for medical care when necessary
  • Continuously assess patients’ mental health symptoms and responses to treatment
  • Update treatment plans to ensure evidence-based care is provided
  • Foster holistic, integrated care by supporting patients in accessing primary care and medical specialists

Qualifications

  • At least one year of experience in involuntary inpatient psychiatric or withdrawal management settings preferred
  • Commitment to supporting individuals with severe mental health illnesses in community settings
  • Current CPR and First Aid certifications, or ability to obtain within 90 days
  • Proven ability to communicate clearly and accurately complete assigned tasks

Education Requirements

  • Master’s degree in psychiatric mental health nursing is required

Experience Requirements

  • At least one year of relevant experience in psychiatric nursing preferred
  • Experience with trauma-informed care and working with diverse communities is preferred
