The Quality Lab Technician will perform essential tests on all belts produced in the plant, assisting production at the end of each shift to prepare belts for shipping. This role requires maintaining proficiency in various laboratory functional areas and executing responsibilities in a timely manner. You will uphold knowledge of Veyance and customer acceptance criteria, testing methods, analysis of results, and laboratory best practices. Additionally, you will handle requests for laboratory services from internal and external customers, ensuring accurate and timely results.

Skills

  • Ability to learn and teach laboratory test and inspection methods
  • Proficiency in multiple laboratory testing and inspection methods
  • Strong communication skills (written, verbal, active listening, interpersonal)
  • Functional competency in computer applications: MS Excel, MS Word, Lotus Notes, SQCpack, equipment control software, SAP purchasing, ARIBA Buyer

Responsibilities

  • Complete necessary tests on belts in the plant
  • Assist production in preparing belts for shipping
  • Maintain and train laboratory staff in functional areas
  • Optimize equipment availability through preventive maintenance and timely repairs
  • Maintain knowledge of test control software and databases
  • Ensure compliance with quality and environmental management systems

Qualifications

  • Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in an industrial testing laboratory or related field
  • Experience within a registered quality management system preferred

Education Requirements

  • Relevant degree or certification in a technical or quality-related field preferred
