Compensation and Benefits

• Salary for this position is \(75,000 - \)90,000 per year
• Full-time position (Monday - Friday)

Skills

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in nursing
• Completion of CMS’s Long-Term Care Basic Training and passing the Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test (SMQT)
• At least two (2) years of recent experience working as a surveyor in long-term care facilities
• Strong independent decision-making skills
• Ability to set priorities and manage survey tasks independently
• Conflict resolution and communication skills
• Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site surveys of Medicare-Medicaid certified health care facilities
• Prepare for surveys through off-site preparation, facility tours, observation of care, and record reviews
• Evaluate the quality of care and consumers’ rights in healthcare facilities
• Communicate non-compliance issues with key personnel during site reviews
• Determine acceptability of plans of correction
• Conduct follow-up visits and monitoring surveys
• Assist with facility and bureau training, and participate in work groups as needed

Qualifications

• Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN)
• Demonstrated history of effective management of the survey process
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills
