Job Description

Job Overview: Join our esteemed organization as an Accounting Assistant, an essential contributor to our finance team located in Columbia Falls, Montana. Key Responsibilities:

  • Uphold stringent confidentiality within financial operations.
  • Manage all aspects of accounts payable, including verification, coding, payment processing, and documentation.
  • Assist with credit card transactions, expense reporting, and statement reconciliations.
  • Prepare and reconcile accounts payable reports efficiently.
  • Issue, verify, and receive purchase orders with diligence.
  • Support raw material procurement, receiving, inventory adjustments, and month-end cost reconciliation.
  • Address vendor and employee inquiries related to invoices and expenses.
  • Participate in software implementations and special projects as needed.
  • Oversee bi-weekly payroll, ensuring precise preparation, documentation, and distribution.
  • Verify the accuracy of timesheets and promptly resolve payroll-related issues.
  • Generate and distribute payroll reports as required.
  • Provide occasional front desk coverage, assisting visitors and managing phone inquiries.
  • Perform general clerical duties, such as filing, photocopying, and mailing.
  • Maintain organized accounting department files and records.
  • Assist with special accounting projects as they arise.

Required Skills:

  • Strong grasp of financial statements and accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in MS Office applications (experience with NetSuite is an advantage).
  • Capable of 10-key data entry by touch and adept at learning new software quickly.
  • Bookkeeping experience is beneficial.
  • Excellent numerical skills, reconciliation abilities, and attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications:

  • An Associate degree in a relevant field or a comparable combination of education and experience.
  • Prior experience in accounting or similar roles is preferred.
  • Familiarity with bookkeeping practices is an added advantage.
