Job Description

Job Overview:

We are in search of a meticulous and committed Accounting & HR Assistant to join our vibrant nonprofit organization in a fully remote capacity. This role provides a unique opportunity to collaborate closely with the Director of Finance & HR, playing a vital role in enhancing the organization’s financial operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable: Overseeing vendor management, processing W9 forms, and related responsibilities.
  • Scholarship Payments: Ensuring accurate processing of scholarship payments to educational institutions and managing communications.
  • Accounts Receivable: Creating invoices, managing overdue accounts, and facilitating collections.
  • Receivables Processing: Inputting receivables into the Intacct accounting software.
  • Tax Acknowledgments: Preparing donor tax acknowledgment documentation.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Performing reconciliations for bank accounts and credit card statements.
  • Expense Reports & Reimbursements: Managing the processing of expense reports and reimbursements while organizing credit card receipts for the team.
  • Inventory Control: Administering in-kind inventory and overseeing distribution.
  • Additional tasks as directed by the Director of Finance & HR or the CEO.

Required Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and G-Suite applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Excellent project management skills, demonstrating attention to detail and prioritization capabilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting principles, bookkeeping, and finance.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a capacity to manage multiple tasks and deadlines effectively.
  • Self-motivated with a strong emphasis on confidentiality and professionalism.

Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required, ideally in accounting or finance.
  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Familiarity with nonprofit accounting is advantageous but not mandatory.
  • Experience with Sage Intacct accounting software is highly preferred.
