Key Responsibilities:

• Facilitate Communication: Successfully translate medical information between healthcare professionals and patients to ensure understanding and build trust.
• Document Translation: Convert vital documents, including medical records and legal paperwork, into the required languages.
• Interpretation Services: Deliver precise and effective interpretation during medical consultations, meetings, and other essential interactions.
• Quality Assurance: Review and modify translated documents to uphold high standards of accuracy and clarity.
• Maintain Confidentiality: Ensure strict adherence to privacy regulations, including HIPAA, when handling sensitive information.
• Community Engagement: Support outreach efforts by reviewing and translating documentation for social work initiatives.
• Additional Duties: Be adaptable and ready to take on extra responsibilities that benefit the team and those we serve.

Required Skills:

• Proven Experience: Documented experience in medical translation or a related field.
• Language Proficiency: Fluent in Spanish (with preference for multiple dialects), along with exceptional verbal and written communication skills in all necessary languages.
• Linguistic Acumen: Deep understanding of grammar, vocabulary, and cultural subtleties in both source and target languages.
• Technical Skills: Familiarity with translation software and tools is advantageous.
• Organizational Abilities: Competent in managing multiple tasks efficiently with attention to detail.

Qualifications:

• Educational Requirement: High School Diploma.
• Certification: Preferably, a certification in medical translation.
• Life Support: Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is essential.
• Citizenship: Must be a U.S. citizen or hold a permanent resident status.
• Clearance: Current MRPT clearance is preferred.
