Skills

  • Prior management experience in a retail environment (preferred)
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Desire to thrive in a fast-paced retail atmosphere
  • Willingness to learn and grow
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks
  • Availability to work 45 hours per week, including nights and weekends
  • Capable of standing for long periods of time
  • Must be at least 18 years old

Responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed personal and store sales goals
  • Recruit and hire high-caliber employees based on store needs
  • Train and develop a successful sales team
  • Provide feedback, coaching, and accountability to staff
  • Recognize and develop talented employees for growth
  • Supervise daily store operations in the absence of the Store Manager and Manager In Training
  • Manage loss prevention practices in the absence of the Store Manager
  • Communicate store needs effectively to management
  • Resolve customer issues efficiently
  • Deliver a fun, full-service experience to all customers
  • Understand and embody the Journeys culture
  • Handle bank deposits
  • Open and close the store as required

Qualifications

  • 6-12 months of retail sales experience
  • Completed all training programs leading to the Co-Manager position

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent is preferred

Experience Requirements

  • Prior management experience in a retail environment preferred
  • Experience in retail sales for at least 6-12 months
