We are currently interviewing for a Roadway Technician/Construction Inspector (TT-1 or TT-2) to join our Construction Engineering and Inspection Practice in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Skills

• Strong technical skills in construction inspection
• Ability to read and interpret contract plans, specifications, and regulatory agency manuals
• Familiarity with construction practices, especially in roadway and bridge construction
• Proficiency in performing density and asphalt tests
• Strong observation and reporting skills
• Ability to assist and direct less experienced staff

Responsibilities

• Read contract plans, specifications, shop drawings, and regulatory agency manuals
• Observe construction work, including trench excavation, pipe placement, pile driving, and concrete pouring
• Perform density and asphalt tests; sample and verify certification of materials
• Review shop drawings within limited area of expertise; log and report materials and work
• Assist in directing the daily activities of less experienced staff

Qualifications

• North Carolina DOT (NCDOT) certifications preferred but not mandatory
• Previous transportation project experience preferred
• Current certifications required
• Relevant certifications in highway construction and concrete testing preferred

Education Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Additional certifications in relevant fields preferred

• ACI Concrete Field-Testing Certification
• Equivalent state certifications

Experience Requirements

• Previous experience in construction inspection and transportation projects preferred
• Experience with materials testing and reporting in a construction environment
