Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 5+ years of proven experience in a similar role
• Leadership or supervisory experience in accounting
• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organizational skills
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to deliver accurate and timely results
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Solid business understanding and acumen
• Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a team
• Experience in agriculture or manufacturing industries is a plus
• Familiarity with IBM Cognos TM1 or Microsoft Power BI is a bonus

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor 1 to 2 staff accountants
• Oversee the preparation, consolidation, and analysis of financial statements
• Prepare monthly account reconciliations, complete with thorough analysis and explanations
• Post and review month-end journal entries for accuracy
• Serve as a resource for financial inquiries, providing clear and prompt communication to company stakeholders
• Develop and implement process improvements and procedures
• Participate in year-end external financial statement audits
• Maintain and update the general ledger chart of accounts and reporting structure within the company’s ERP and reporting systems
• Ensure the proper elimination of intercompany transactions through diligent research and review
• Handle ad-hoc projects as assigned

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience with GAAP, Microsoft Excel, monthly account reconciliation, analysis skills, and supervisory duties
• Experience with Cognos and Power BI (preferred but not required)
