Are you an experienced Azure Cloud Engineer with a strong background in security and data protection? We’re looking for a highly skilled professional to lead a large-scale ransomware protection project. This is a long-term contract opportunity that is 100% remote, with the requirement to work on an Eastern Time Zone schedule.

As a Senior Azure Cloud Engineer, you will play a key role in architecting and creating a roadmap for an ongoing ransomware protection initiative. Your expertise in Azure will be essential in driving the success of this project. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with all levels of management are critical for this role. The ideal candidate is a proactive self-starter who thrives in independent work environments.

Compensation and Benefits

  • Pay: \(80 - \)110 per hour (W2 only; Corp-to-Corp not considered)
  • Full-time contract role (40 hours per week)
  • Standard Monday to Friday, 8-hour shifts

Skills

  • 5+ years of experience working with Azure cloud technologies
  • 2+ years of experience in IT security, focused on data protection and ransomware mitigation
  • Strong experience with Terraform for Azure infrastructure management
  • Hands-on expertise with Azure security tools, policies, and best practices
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with various teams and stakeholders
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and implementation of security and data protection strategies within Azure
  • Architect and execute a roadmap for ransomware protection
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and teams to ensure alignment with business objectives
  • Utilize Azure tools and best practices to enhance cloud security and storage solutions
  • Work with technologies including Azure Policy, Storage Accounts, Git, JIRA, Terraform (Azure RM/Terraform Provider), Azure Key Vault, Azure Virtual Machines, Azure Cosmos DB, and Azure SQL Database

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience working with Azure cloud technologies
  • 2+ years of experience in IT security, specifically focused on data protection and ransomware mitigation
  • Strong experience with Terraform for Azure infrastructure management
  • Hands-on expertise with Azure security tools, policies, and best practices
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively interact with various teams and stakeholders
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship

Education Requirements

  • Relevant degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred

Experience Requirements

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience in Azure cloud technologies
  • Proven experience in IT security and data protection strategies
