We are seeking an experienced Senior Biologist / Project Manager to join our growing Natural Resources team in California. In this role, you will lead project execution, delegate tasks, and collaborate closely with both your peers and junior staff to ensure the success of our projects.

Compensation and Benefits

The base salary range for this full-time position is \(84,000 - \)138,000, plus benefits and bonus opportunities. Salary offers will be based on a candidate’s skills, experience, and job-related knowledge, ensuring fairness and internal equity.

Skills

  • Expertise in biological resource assessments (CEQA/NEPA).
  • Experience in botanical and wildlife species surveys.
  • Proficiency in wetland delineations and jurisdictional determinations.
  • Knowledge of CRAM assessments and regulatory permitting.
  • Skills in restoration planning, habitat management, and mitigation monitoring.
  • Ability to manage complex projects and build positive relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare high-quality technical studies and environmental documents.
  • Identify optimal permitting pathways for complex projects.
  • Conduct stream/wetland delineations and other biological fieldwork.
  • Lead and manage complex biological permitting projects.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and regulatory agencies.
  • Provide technical direction to staff and oversee project scopes, budgets, and deliverables.
  • Engage in client outreach and participate in proposal writing.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of 6 years of progressive environmental consulting experience.
  • A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology (or equivalent), or a PhD with 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Proven track record of supervising employees and providing solutions.

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, or relevant field.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in environmental consulting, with expertise in project management and business development.
