The Senior Environmental Planner / Project Manager will play a critical role in overseeing high-quality environmental analyses and managing projects within our Water Practice. This position involves leading multi-faceted planning projects in collaboration with scientists, engineers, and other specialists, focusing on water supply, infrastructure, flood protection, and wastewater management.

Skills

  • Extensive experience with CEQA and NEPA documentation
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and permitting processes in California
  • Proficiency in conducting environmental analyses for water-related projects
  • Excellent oral and presentation skills

  • Ability to mentor and coach junior staff

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multi-faceted planning projects in collaboration with specialists
  • Develop environmental compliance and planning documents
  • Prepare and manage complex environmental analyses
  • Present technical information clearly in client meetings and community workshops
  • Lead proposal preparation for projects, including technical input and budget management
  • Mentor junior staff and foster team collaboration

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in environmental planning
  • Comprehensive understanding of policy planning and regulatory processes
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Proven ability to lead marketing and business development efforts

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, planning, geography, public policy, or a related field
