The Department of Ecology is seeking a Technical Unit Supervisor / Senior Hydrogeologist (Hydrogeologist 4) within the Water Resources Program. Responsibilities

  • Supervise a team of at least four staff members in the Central Region’s Technical Unit.
  • Plan and conduct professional geologic and hydrogeologic investigations and research.
  • Review proposed groundwater and surface water development projects.
  • Investigate hydraulic continuity between surface and groundwater.
  • Oversee the central Washington groundwater well monitoring network.
  • Prepare well hydrographs for water management purposes.
  • Review water right reports submitted by consultants.
  • Represent the Water Resources Program on project groups with cross-program collaborators.

Qualifications

  • Experience in hydrogeology with a focus on groundwater and surface water interactions.
  • Proven leadership experience in supervising technical staff.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical information effectively.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Hydrogeology or a related field is required.

Education Requirements Credential Category

  • Must possess relevant credentials in hydrogeology or a related discipline.

Experience Requirements

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in hydrogeological evaluations and investigations.
  • Proven experience in managing teams and projects related to water resources.
