Description

The Licensed Land Surveyor / Project Manager will oversee and coordinate the activities of surveyors and technicians engaged in determining precise locations and measurements of various points, elevations, and contours for multiple purposes including construction and utility locations. The successful candidate will prioritize safe work practices, evaluate staff progress, and represent the company at client meetings and conferences. This position is not eligible for employer-based sponsorship except for TN visa classification.

Skills

  • Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • General understanding of survey plan preparation using Bentley MicroStation/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD Civil 3D

Responsibilities

  • Manage operations of multiple field crews
  • Provide quality control and assurance on all project work
  • Prepare and monitor project budgets and billing
  • Responsible for client management on projects
  • Lead and manage team members by providing leadership and continuous performance management

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 12+ years of experience in surveying
  • Professional Registered Land Surveyor in Virginia
  • Working knowledge of Federal, State, and local jurisdiction surveying regulations

Education Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

Education Requirements Credential Category

  • Professional Registered Land Surveyor in Virginia required

Experience Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in surveying
  • Experience with subface utility designating and locating preferred
  • Familiarity with VDOT and Hampton Roads Municipalities preferred
  • Knowledge of aerial mapping, LiDAR scanning, and sUAS preferred
