Compensation and Benefits

• Rate Range: Starting rate is negotiable based on skills and experience
• Hourly independent contractor position; compensation is paid monthly via wire transfer
• Role does not include PTO as it is an independent contractor position

Skills

• 4-5+ years of professional software development experience
• Proven high agency — a track record of shipping software without detailed specs
• Fluent with modern AI-assisted development workflows (e.g., Claude Code, Codex)
• Full-stack range — comfortable working across multiple layers of development
• Strong product instincts — ability to reason about UX and priorities
• Clear and concise communication skills
• Ability to work comfortably in ambiguous and fast-moving environments

Responsibilities

• Transform vague, high-level goals into shipped, working software with minimal guidance
• Own large scopes end-to-end: break down the problem and drive to completion
• Make independent UX and scope judgment calls
• Work in iterative loops — ship quickly and refine based on feedback
• Utilize agentic coding tools as part of your daily workflow
• Surface blockers, tradeoffs, and decisions early and clearly

Qualifications

• A solid foundation in engineering fundamentals
• Track record of shipping side projects or prototypes
• Comfort in fast-paced, early-stage environments

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field preferred
