The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing multiple DOT IT projects, with a primary focus on the Roadway Lighting Control and Monitoring System Project and SAS Initiative within the DOT IT PMO. The ideal candidate will have experience managing both in-house and third-party developed solutions from conception through to implementation and closeout. The role requires the ability to manage highly complex work efforts.

Skills

• Proficient in MS Project and MS Project Server for managing multi-million dollar projects
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Proven planning and management skills, including scope estimating and control, budgeting, testing, quality assurance, and resource allocation
• Experience with project risk management
• Familiarity with implementing solutions utilizing third-party vendors
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills
• Experienced in contract and vendor management

Responsibilities

• Ensure successful completion of end-to-end project work and management of all work products
• Oversee projects with multiple deliverables, delegating and coordinating tasks as necessary
• Create and manage an integrated project plan and execute the project plan effectively
• Manage project scope, resources, timelines, costs, quality, communication, and procurement
• Develop and execute training on standard project management practices
• Facilitate project governance and reporting
• Implement changes to existing functionality or new applications/technology

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience as a Senior Project Manager
• Proven skills in managing complex projects from inception to completion
• Experience with both in-house and third-party development solutions
• Strong analytical capabilities and conceptual thinking

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred

Education Requirements Credential Category

• Project Management professional certification is a plus

Experience Requirements

• 7 years of project management experience
• 5 years of experience in project risk management
• 6 years of experience implementing solutions with third-party vendors
