Skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Familiarity with community association work
  • Ability to handle complex legal matters in real estate

Responsibilities

  • Drafting a variety of contracts, including AIA and other agreements (e.g., cell tower licenses, management agreements)
  • Providing legal opinions regarding governing documents and local laws
  • Handling commercial financing transactions, including mortgage refinances
  • Addressing employment law matters such as contracts, collective bargaining agreements, and severance agreements
  • Drafting correspondence to residents
  • Managing discrimination cases
  • Representing clients at community and board meetings
  • Maintaining client relationships and regular communication
  • Assisting with the Co-op apartment transfer department and related transactions

Qualifications

  • Admitted to practice in New York State
  • 7+ years of experience in real estate-related transactional work

Education Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD)

Education Requirements Credential Category

  • Law degree from an accredited institution

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in real estate law
