Skills

  • Extensive experience managing affordable housing properties/operations
  • Knowledge of HUD, LIHTC, RD, local city and state programs and legislation
  • Proficiency in creating and managing budgets and financial reporting
  • Valid driver’s license

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operations of a portfolio of affordable housing properties (HUD, LIHTC, Section 8, RD)
  • Supervise, manage, and direct a team of property managers and site-level staff
  • Recruit, mentor, coach, train, and support teams
  • Ensure properties are maintained to company standards
  • Ensure compliance with all regulatory local and state programs
  • Review all property budgets prior to implementation
  • Proactively manage budget by reviewing property expenses
  • Perform random audits to ensure properties maintain regulatory compliance
  • Address residents’ concerns in a timely manner
  • Evaluate property data to create strategic plans for optimized performance and occupancy
  • Inspect properties routinely within the portfolio
  • Ensure staff provide excellent customer service to residents
  • Oversee rent collections and occupancy levels
  • Establish and ensure adherence to a preventative maintenance schedule for the portfolio

Qualifications

  • 10+ years’ experience managing affordable housing properties/operations
  • Current working knowledge of HUD, LIHTC, RD, local city and state programs and legislation
  • Skilled in creating and managing budgets, financial reporting, and compliance
  • COS, HCCP, CPO certifications preferred
  • Persuasive leadership style with demonstrated ability to lead and coach managers
  • Professional with the ability to manage changing priorities

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred

Education Requirements Credential Category

  • Degree in Property Management, Business Administration, or related field

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years in affordable housing management, including supervision of property management staff
