The Tax Compliance role is integral to ensuring the company’s adherence to federal and state tax regulations. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing all federal pro-forma tax returns, timely filing of federal forms, managing state and local returns, and mentoring an income tax associate. This position also involves collaborating with external advisors and driving efficiency within the tax function.

  • US federal and state income tax practical and technical expertise (5-10+ years preferred)
  • Experience with automation of income tax processes (a plus)
  • Experience with SAP/HFM/Corptax/Alteryx

Responsibilities

  • Review all federal pro-forma tax returns and supporting work papers
  • Timely review of federal forms/attachments for filing
  • E-file the company’s federal consolidated tax return
  • Review state/locality returns prepared by the company/3rd party resources
  • Manage and mentor an income tax associate
  • Assist with federal and state income tax audits
  • Investigate and resolve income tax notices
  • Coordinate tax payments on behalf of the tax department
  • Assist with the quarterly and annual US GAAP income tax provision
  • Review the Company’s Income Tax account reconciliations
  • Document applicable internal tax controls
  • Liaise with external tax advisors on relevant matters

Qualifications

  • College degree in Finance/Accounting related discipline (preferred); additional years of work experience may be considered in lieu of degree
  • MS in Taxation and/or a CPA is preferred

  • 5-10+ years of experience in federal and state income tax compliance and reporting
