Job Description

Position Title: Senior Technical Reporting Accountant (Senior Technical Accounting Analyst) Location: Remote position available in Oregon, Washington, Idaho, or Utah Primary Job Purpose: As a Senior Technical Reporting Accountant, you'll play a pivotal role in ensuring our financial statements adhere to both GAAP and Statutory regulations. Your responsibilities include researching and reviewing our reporting positions, staying updated on regulatory changes, and presenting findings to our finance leadership team. General Functions and Outcomes: - Stay abreast of accounting and insurance industry standards from bodies like FASB, SEC, AICPA, and others, evaluating their impact on our financial statements. - Draft or review accounting white papers and position papers, articulating the company's stance on technical accounting topics. - Lead research into complex accounting issues, collaborating with external auditors when necessary. - Provide technical accounting guidance to our business units and keep our corporate accounting policies updated. - Contribute to external reporting, ensuring accuracy and completeness in public disclosures. - Collaborate with auditors on accounting matters and disclosure requirements. - Support M&A activities, including due diligence and integration efforts. - Deliver updates on GAAP and Statutory regulations to accounting personnel and finance leadership. - Assist with special projects and other finance functions as needed. - Bring fresh ideas and industry trends to improve our accounting practices. Minimum Requirements: - Proven experience developing technical accounting procedures and positions, including drafting formal guidance for management. - Strong technical accounting skills aligned with business objectives. - Demonstrated leadership in project management, team leadership, training, and process improvement. - Analytical thinking with the ability to provide in-depth analysis and recommendations. - Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, across all levels of the organization. - Ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining composure and good judgment. - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field, with 7+ years of financial reporting and accounting research experience. - Must hold a CPA license; additional certifications such as CMA, MBA, or Masters of Accounting preferred, along with experience in the health insurance industry. Work Environment: - No unusual working conditions. - Primarily remote work environment. - Overtime and outside normal hours may be required.

Employment Type: Full-Time

Salary: $40000.00 - 140000.00 Per Year
