The Website UI/UX Designer/Developer (WordPress) plays a critical role within a hybrid work environment, working under the direction of an IT Manager or user agency personnel. This position specializes in the WordPress platform and contributes to providing customers with WordPress hosting and professional services. You will work collaboratively with developers, designers, testers, and project managers, interfacing with multi-functional IT support groups and both internal and external customers from various County departments.

This role includes providing WordPress application development, onboarding, and operational support on the WPEngine and AWS Openshift platform. You’ll participate in new development and maintenance of multiple websites while ensuring adherence to a service level agreement of 99.5% uptime.

Skills

• Proficient in WordPress website design, development, and implementation
• Knowledge of various coding languages including PHP, NodeJS, React, JavaScript, CSS
• Familiarity with CLI, BASH scripting, GitHub, Linux, and Windows

Responsibilities

• Build and customize WordPress websites, themes, and plugins

• Follow incident, change, and problem management procedures
• Participate in team meetings and provide operational support

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in building and customizing WordPress websites
• At least two (2) years of experience working with ADA and accessibility tooling/remediation
• Experience with REST or GRAPHQL API
• Proven ability to harden WordPress websites and remediate security vulnerabilities
• Experience in performance tuning PHP, Apache, and MySQL
