The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is seeking a SharePoint Product Specialist contractor for a 12-month engagement within the Engineering Application Services Department as an ECM Business Analyst. This individual will be responsible for business analysis and solution design in support of NCDOT’s Operations and Traffic business processes that are vital to the transportation lifecycle. Responsibilities include defining and prioritizing SharePoint and web-based projects, delivering content management and business process support, breaking down designs into manageable work items, tracking status, and managing communications and dependencies. Additionally, this role involves quality assurance testing, coordinating project rollouts, creating training materials, and arranging operational support.

Skills

• Proven experience as a Business Analyst
• SharePoint expertise in designing custom Microsoft SharePoint lists, libraries, and content types
• Experience in designing and testing SharePoint and web-based content management solutions
• Strong analytical and conceptual skills
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
• Experience in evaluating business processes and re-engineering
• Ability to write clear and concise technical training materials and user documentation

Responsibilities

• Design SharePoint and web-based solutions to support Operations and Traffic business processes
• Break down design into clearly defined work items for the development team
• Prioritize and track progress on work items and deliverables
• Ensure the timely completion and delivery of work items with quality documentation
• Document program and project deliverables as assigned
• Coordinate with clients to implement re-engineered business processes
• Test SharePoint and web-based content management deliverables
• Draft and deliver training materials for changed business processes and IT applications
• Consult with clients to prototype, refine, test, and debug applications and processes
• Provide quality control for program and project deliverables
• Guide team members throughout the project

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst
• Proven experience in SharePoint solution design
• Strong organizational and presentation skills
• Experience in Quality Assurance testing preferred
• Understanding of NCDOT transportation lifecycle business processes is an advantage

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field

Education Requirements Credential Category

• Relevant degrees in Business Administration, Information Technology, or related fields

Experience Requirements

• Minimum of 5 years in business analysis with SharePoint experience
• Proven experience in project management and product ownership
