Help shape the future of speech intelligence! We are seeking contributions from 150 individuals who exhibit a speech stutter and are willing to record a number of prompts to enhance speech recognition technology. This project has two components, both requiring you to record your speech using Appen’s audio mobile recorder via your smartphone.

The first component involves a screening process where you’ll be asked to read 14 speech recordings and meet certain qualifying variables. For example, you may be asked to read, ‘Jim quickly realized that the beautiful gowns are expensive.’

If you successfully pass the screening stage, the second component will require you to record 111 spontaneous speech recordings in a quiet indoor environment. For instance, you may be prompted to answer, ‘How would you ask your assistant for the time in your favorite city in Europe?’.
