Description
The Staff/Assistant Civil Designer will engage in various phases of planning, proposal preparation, site evaluations, analytical designs, report preparation, specifications, and construction documentation as part of a project team. This role involves working on diverse projects with a wide range of clients. The position includes designing civil engineering projects such as site design, land development, roads, storm drainage systems, water and sanitary sewer utility design, and traffic control, among others.

Skills

  • Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D (Must Have), MicroStation, and InRoads/OpenRoads
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Responsibilities

  • Design civil engineering projects including site design, roads, and drainage systems
  • Develop drawings and execute design assignments using standard techniques
  • Analyze data to inform project planning and design
  • Review design drawings for quality assurance
  • Report volume calculations for excavation and grading
  • Maintain project documentation in an organized manner
  • Execute changes and mark-ups on ongoing projects
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Expert knowledge in design calculations and systems
  • Demonstrated experience in civil design projects
  • Strong understanding of design software
  • Effective communication skills

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in drafting technology or a related field
