Job Summary: As a Statutory Reporting Accountant, you will play a crucial role in our Statutory Reporting team. Working closely with the Statutory Reporting Manager, you will be responsible for various tasks related to compiling accurate and timely Statutory financial statements, reconciliations, and process enhancements. With the significant growth of our health insurance entities, this position is essential in meeting the financial reporting requirements set by state regulatory authorities. Responsibilities: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual Statutory financial statements, ensuring timely and accurate presentation to the NAIC and state regulatory authorities. Complete supplemental filings accompanying quarterly and annual Statutory financial statements as required by state regulatory authorities. Assist with Department of Insurance financial examinations by preparing schedules, responding to inquiries, and meeting deadlines. Support the testing and development of reports using NetSuite and other ad hoc tools for financial statement preparation and supplemental filings. Maintain standard operating procedures and internal controls related to Statutory financial statements, schedules, and exhibits. Provide feedback to the controller's team to align chart of account structure with regulatory reporting requirements. Participate in ad hoc projects supporting Statutory Reporting and Finance needs. Be flexible to work overtime during peak reporting periods. Qualities for Success: Demonstrated track record of success in a changing and complex financial reporting environment. Effective time management and ability to handle multiple demands independently. Uphold high ethical standards and maintain confidentiality of financial and sensitive information. Thrive in a fast-paced team environment where we continuously optimize our operations and processes. Desired Skills and Experience: 2-5 years of experience in statutory reporting, accounting, or similar accounting/auditing roles. Bachelor's degree in accounting. Preferred experience in healthcare and insurance industries. Knowledge of Medicare Advantage is a plus. Familiarity with statutory reporting and accounting. Proficiency in NetSuite or similar general ledger software. Experience with GAIN Compliance or similar NAIC approved statutory reporting software is preferred. Intermediate or advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Suite. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
