Skills

  • Current, unencumbered RN license in Oregon (Required).
  • At least one year of full-time experience as a licensed nurse (Required).
  • Experience in skilled nursing facilities (Preferred).
  • Previous teaching experience or instructor approval from the Oregon State Board of Nursing (Preferred).
  • Ability to engage, mentor, and motivate students of all backgrounds.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Comfortable working with technology, including presentations and online learning platforms.
  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel within Oregon.

Responsibilities

  • Lead engaging classroom discussions, present lectures, and facilitate learning using videos and PowerPoint presentations.
  • Demonstrate and teach essential nursing skills in a lab setting, preparing students for their certification exams.
  • Supervise students in clinical settings, ensuring they receive hands-on experience while following state regulations.
  • Assign duties, oversee skills practice, and document student progress.
  • Collaborate with facility staff CNAs and seamlessly integrate students into the clinical environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, student performance, and evaluations.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and professional guidance to students.
  • Uphold and enforce school policies, addressing any student concerns as necessary.

Qualifications

  • Current, unencumbered RN license in Oregon (Required).
