Skills

  • Must be currently admitted to the bar in a U.S. state or territory
  • VA accreditation is preferred
  • Experience in Veterans Disability or Social Security law is a plus
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to conduct thorough legal research and effectively apply legal principles
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks
  • Compassionate, detail-oriented, and committed to serving veterans
  • Comfortable with technology, including remote collaboration tools (Zoom, Teams, Slack) and digital case management systems

Responsibilities

  • Handle approximately 15 hearings per month before the Board of Veterans’ Appeals (BVA)
  • Review medical and service records to build strong cases
  • Prepare clients for their hearings by providing guidance and support
  • Request necessary medical evaluations and records
  • Conduct legal research and draft hearing and post-hearing briefs, motions, and writs
  • Collaborate with a dedicated case manager as part of a team
  • Review case-related correspondence and ensure all necessary legal actions are taken
  • Participate in weekly team and attorney meetings via Zoom

Qualifications

  • Must be currently admitted to the bar in a U.S. state or territory
  • VA accreditation is preferred
  • Experience in Veterans Disability or Social Security law is a plus
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Ability to conduct thorough legal research and apply legal principles effectively

Education Requirements

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
