Skills

• Fluent with strong verbal communication skills in both source and target languages (e.g., Mandarin-to-English, English-to-Mandarin)
• Strong customer service and interpreting skills
• Respect and understanding of LEP clients, their cultures, and preferences
• Knowledge of interpreting ethics and standards of practice (IMIA, NBCMI, NCIHC)
• Familiarity with medical privacy laws (HIPAA) and other legal guidelines pertaining to medical interpreting

Responsibilities

• Provide effective video remote interpreting services for consumers
• Adhere to all policies and procedures outlined by Stratus Video
• Maintain professional behavior including regular attendance, punctuality, and preparation for shifts
• Engage in respectful and collaborative interactions with colleagues and supervisors
• Participate in ongoing quality assurance and call monitoring programs

Qualifications

• At least 1-5 years of medical interpreting experience
• Strong knowledge of the medical profession and its privacy laws

Education Requirements

• Relevant educational background in interpreting, linguistics, or a related field is preferred

Education Requirements Credential Category

• Certification in medical interpreting is a plus but not mandatory
