The Tutor will play a meaningful role in supporting small groups of growing readers virtually, multiple times a week. Reporting to the Program Manager of Tutoring Services, the Tutor will utilize a small group tutoring intervention program to deliver tutoring sessions virtually and monitor students’ progress. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, results-driven, and a self-starter who enjoys working with young children and developing learning skills through game-like activities.

Compensation and Benefits

• Hourly rate range for this role is \(13.75 - \)15 for preparation time; and \(15 - \)20 for delivery of sessions.

Skills

• Strong proficiency in English, both verbal and written

Responsibilities

• Provide virtual tutoring to small groups of K-6 students three set days per week between 3:00 and 4:30 pm Pacific time.
• Engage in lesson preparation according to provided small group lesson plans.
• Monitor progress of students’ reading ability and track attendance daily.
• Implement feedback from the program manager and professional development coach.
• Communicate clearly and consistently with teachers and parents regarding student goals.
• Attend synchronous or asynchronous bi-weekly tutor meetings.
• Participate in virtual training and onboarding sessions.
• Contribute to project-level feedback and reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum High School diploma or equivalent
• Previous tutoring experience is a plus
• Enjoy working with elementary school-age students
• Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse audience
