The Volunteer Coordinator is tasked with fostering positive relationships within the company and with external stakeholders. Responsibilities include supervising volunteers, managing their recruitment, training, performance appraisal, and resolving issues related to volunteer operations while ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations. Additionally, the Volunteer Coordinator will coordinate volunteer services to meet the needs of patients and families.

Skills

  • Strong mathematical skills for computations related to volunteer management.

Responsibilities

  • Participate as a member of the interdisciplinary team (IDT) in developing and implementing the plan of care.
  • Recruit, hire, train, supervise, and retain volunteers for administrative and patient care needs.
  • Maintain records of recruitment and retention activities.
  • Ensure compliance with mandated background and health screenings for volunteers.
  • Conduct initial and ongoing competency evaluations for volunteers.
  • Communicate patient and family needs to the IDT effectively.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Associate’s degree (AS or BS) preferred.
  • Experience in Social Services, Human Services, Resource Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Prior experience in managing volunteer services or a non-profit organization is a plus.

  • High school diploma or equivalent certifications.

Experience Requirements

  • Experience in Social Services, Human Services, Resource Management, or a related field is preferred.
